Quarantine Self Care

03/09/2021

It's no surprise that this pandemic has led to a lot of anxiety and unsureness about the future. However, it's always important to remember to take care of not only your physical health but your mental health as well. Looking for ways to take care of yourself at home? We've got you!

1. Exercise

I know you've probably heard this one a thousand times, but it truly is beneficial. Exercising not only helps you to take care of your body but also helps you keep your mind off of everything going on. If traditional exercises aren't your thing, try something that you're interested in. Some of the many fun physical activities you can do are finding dance workouts on Youtube, playing a sport, or even going for a nice walk outside. Make sure to stay hydrated and listen to your body if it's telling you to rest!

2. Read a Book

Ah, the feeling of relaxing in a cozy space with a great book! Reading is a great way to distract yourself from the occurrences in life. I mean, you're practically being teleported to a whole new world (possibly Aladdin's world)! Try joining a virtual book club for a fun and safe way to read amazing books while making new friends!

3. Get Some Fresh Air

Whether it's in your backyard or a park, it's super important to get fresh air while staying indoors all day. Not only is it a great reset, but it is super beneficial for your body as well. After sitting down at a desk all day, it's good to take a break between sessions and go outside for some extra energy and a lessened chance of burnout.

4. Try Something New

The perfect way to take your mind off of something is to try something new. Some fun hobbies to try are bedazzling, coloring, or drawing. Are those not your thing? Maybe try playing a new instrument, baking, or doing arts and crafts. Play some music that makes you happy in the background and you have yourself a relaxing time!

5. Write in a Journal

This one was super hard for me to start doing because it seemed pointless to me at first. However, when I finally started writing in my journal, it changed my entire routine. Not only did I feel more motivated but I felt less stressed about everything going on. By taking some time to realize and accept your thoughts, it will lessen the chance of them building up.

I hope you found some of these tips helpful! Don't forget to take time for yourself and to rest! You're so amazing and everything will be okay! Stay safe and have the best day ever!
